Last night I was sitting on the sofa in our main room and the lights flickered and thunder rolled. "Crap!" I jumped up and skidded around the corners on the hardwood floors like a cartoon cat trying to get to my computer in my den. I knew I had left everything hooked up but not on. I couldn't bear to lose another modem. Catching my breath after disconnecting I heard Toonces upstairs fussing. He had not been so lucky. He was online in his office and it blew out yet ANOTHER modem for him. This is like 4 for him. "We have to do something, there has to be some kind of service other than dial-up available for us in this day and time!" I will look again today. Sprint has told us they will never be eligible for DSL. We are too far off the main line. So goes with DirectTV, I checked and Cable was never available.
If you have any ideas please let me know! We aren't really worried about the expense because it couldn't cost more than constantly replacing modems!
My bird infatuation is growing right along with the number of bird's visiting my feeders. Yesterday in the beautiful weather another little one showed up. At first I thought it was a Blue Jay but its way too small. I found it in Suzy's book as a Nuthatch. I think. Its very sweet. I still can't name my green bird. I found the black throated green warbler that was just like it except my birds don't have a black throat. Anybody knows let me know, please. I have even checked the Internet with no resolve.
I had to quit obsessing over their photos because it was driving me crazy passing by a window, seeing something new and trying to get my camera in time. I just ordered a tripod and I told Toonces he would probably lose his breakfast chair so I could set up for bird photographing. Now I have discovered spotted woodpeckers in the woods behind the house. And right in front of me right now out the window is a red headed woodpecker that I gave up on getting a picture of. He just won't be still. But he is fun to watch!
