"Before embarking on a journey of revenge, dig two graves."- Confucius
It is always tough for me putting away my Christmas things. I love Christmas. I loved 2007. What if next year isn't so hot? But looking back through the year I found this:
I made Toonces come look..."Can you believe it was so beautiful here?"...and we look forward to another year together. I have to look ahead.
I still have snowfalls to enjoy...a trip to the zoo with the kids and all those other crazy adventures we'll have. July 4th I want to have a big family blowout here at the house and new pond, with the new blue gill and red and white bobbers for the children to fish with. There are new lenses to buy, pictures to be taken. Dog walks to be taken.
My mother and I are going to cruise the Mediterranean and see the world- Rome, Africa, Barcelona, Nice, Florence....if we don't kill each other we'll have the time of our lives in 2008.
Heck I may even be winning another grand next weekend...so I can't be too sad about leaving 2007 can I? As much as I loved 2006, 2007 was better...how can 2008 compete? How long can it stay good? Does anyone else ever think this way?
I have enjoyed my tree so much, twinkling up the night, but alas I have to pull the Rubbermaid boxes back out and say goodbye to my Fatty Patty tree. Like it or not the needles wouldn't stay on much longer anyway.
I thought of doing a breakdown of monthly posts highlighting my year and discovered that one of my first 2007 posts was about Earl and his worm dilemma. I decided against it. (How do I have readers?)
I did find this though and I can promise you darling I won't be getting rid of it either...what a treasure for the old scrapbook....the kids really will know that their Auntie Rollie was a fun girl!
I hope I washed my hands after that was taken.
So that's it. I'm determined I am going to wake up on January 1st with childlike anticipation for a year just as wonderful as this past one. (Toonces will say "yeah right" to that, he just always hopes I don't wake up grumpy). And I wish you all the same cheery spirit.
Excitement Toonces and I, why there is no telling what we might get into or where we may end up in 2008. The possibilities are endless...I have to remain optimistic right?
2007 was a wonderful year for me and I thank each and everyone of you for being my friend and coming over to visit and share in our lives. T and I both have enjoyed this Blog and the people it has brought into our home. (Joe in Vegas is even featured on my 2007 Heath-Beasley-Clark Year End DVD) I have so much more respect for others and their way of life as a result of this blog and making friends with people with such different background than my own. The Internet can be a wonderful thing.
I wish you health, happiness, strength, and security!
Let's go blow out 2007 guys....Hootie Hooo!
You can see larger pictures of my final top favorite photos of the year HERE.
I have a whole list of images on my sidebar I am going to keep up a while.
I gotta go find my old man and remind him to take a nap today so he can make it up past midnight!
Happy New Year!
