The photos today were taken Friday morning when Earl and Eudora, Darius the cat, and I took a walk around the yard to try to find "art" in the leaves. I wanted to do a "right where it landed on it's own" kind of thing.
Since I am bad to start assigning everything human qualities I started wondering if the boring brown oak leaves feel slighted or are they so proud of how mighty they stand in the summer that they could care less how they look when they go out.
And what about these guys?
Are they like "Ah, I tell ya, every year it's those darned worms...why can't I have one year to look nice."
Do any of the leaves ever think "Wind don't you put that sorry yellow Poplar leaf near me...Wind...I swear I got that d*mned Poplar leaf right next to me....might as well be down there with the Hickory leaves..." or do they all get along.
As we've been doing lately on Sundays here is our Meme from Judd's Sunday Stealing. Feel welcome to play along.
The "Sometimes" Meme: All you have to do is finish the sentence...
Sometimes I just need: Quiet.
Sometimes I want: My Cake and to eat it too.
Sometimes I like to: walk all around the property edges with the pets making pictures.
Sometimes all it takes: is thinking before you speak.
Sometimes I picture: my husband getting me a Papillion.
Sometimes I wish: I could get more done in a day.
Sometimes I find: people boring.
Sometimes I take: too long doing these memes or other posts.
Sometimes I look: older than I'd like.
Sometimes I hate: shopping.
Sometimes it’s nice: to just hold hands and not say anything.
Sometimes it hurts: when I get the giggles and laugh too hard.
Sometimes it makes me happy: to stay in my pjs for hours just piddling around the house.
Sometimes it’s sad: to see how fast the kids are growing up.
Sometimes I listen: to Hip Hop.
Sometimes I sleep: on the sofa with the dogs beside me.
Sometimes I like to watch: Nascar and NFL Football.
Sometimes I feel: like the luckiest girl in the world.
Sometimes I rant: about politics, stupid people and how badly my hair is doing.
Sometimes I never: even think twice.
Sometimes I really: just want to become introverted.

*Friday night was a great Ladies Night here. A boy's dream...beautiful brunettes, blonds and redheads...but probably way too much estrogen in the room for a guy to handle.
After the ladies left I felt very fortunate to know so many amazing, strong, wonderful women.
*Saturday morning I attended the Autumn Leaves Festival in Mount Airy. In the 40 years I've been on this earth I have never seen such a crowd on Main Street Mount Airy. WAY too many people for my taste. And hot. We only spent a few hours shopping, though I did find a great hammock from this super nice Happy, and we were out of there. I can't stand it when you can only move a few feet in 10 minutes. They had some real bottleneck problems in certain sections of the street. And of course you always have the real rude morons who think they can push their way through the crowd when there are strollers and elderly people trying to move along as best they can. I almost backhanded a couple of young cowboys who thought they could beat everyone out of the jam.
*That afternoon Jackson, Ben and I went to see Beverly Hills Chihuahua. A very appropriate movie for me since it was an Aunt leaving the love of her life, her dog, in the care of her niece.
Every time Jamie Lee Curtis would do something completely over the top mushy for her Chihuahua Jackson would say "Yeah, that is the way you are with your dogs." in the funniest low tone.
At least mine do not wear booties. I haven't gotten that bad.
The scene where the girl is fake barking on the phone for the sake of her aunt cracked me up because I could just imagine my mom doing that to me.
*Last night I finished Season 2 of Heroes. I REALLY like that show but I do think that Peter is pretty much just a dumb *SS. He just never seems to be able to have the sense to figure anything out. I can spot evil before he can. And he makes these dumb faces all the time. He went from being a fave in season 1 to the bottom of the lot this time around.
*Toonces gets home from Nashville this afternoon from the Southern Writer's conference. I hope he remembered to bring me a present.
I love presents.
More where they Land photos and Earl playing peep eyes.
Whew- that is one long strenuous post. I've gotta take a computer break...a big one.

Beautiful pictures and great answers! Have a happy Sunday!

I just love pin oak trees.

I loved your rant, too. Dumb politics, dumb people and dumb hair are all infuriating! Glad you had fun at the movies, and thanks for stopping by my SS.

I like to sleep on my sofa with my dogs now and then also :)

Before they turn brown the oaks around here are a beautiful orange. I love them.
While you're taking your computer break I'm taking my football break. After watching Favre play, well, the way Favre plays I've now got to settle in watching my Pack muddle it up the way they do of late. ARGH I just knew this would be the result of Thompson taking over. GRRRRRRRRRR!!!!

When I looked through my crowd shots from the festival, it almost made me feel claustrophobic. Maybe it was because Dole was on site, but I agree that it was the most crowded I've seen Main Street.

Thanks for taking the boys to the movie. They both said that they liked it better than the movie they saw last week, Igor, so it must have been pretty good.

I miss the fall leaves! I got really excited the other morning when the sumac turned red! Our live oaks only molt in the late winter as the new growth come on so we don't see much seasonal change.
Gorgeous leaf photos! They so remind me of Seattle.
We've become quite attached to "Heroes" and are catching up on Season 2 as well as watching Season 3. We've gotten mixed up more than once - LOL!

I too feel sorry for the brown ones. But they still crunch nice when you jump in them. (except you have dogs, oh well)

What wrong with putting booties on your dog ? ha ha ha
Your fall photos are beautiful.

It's supposed to rain here all weekend so I think I'll take Ethan to see that movie. I think it's one we'll both love since we're both such dog lovers.
I loved Season 1 and 2 of Heroes and watched it on schedule. This year I've been slack and haven't got involved. Like everything now, there's always the DVD marathon session that will catch me up, or I can watch it online, or on the Sci-fi channel.

THese are just GORGEOUS pictures Deana....Your Artistry with the Camera is really stunning! Each one of those is something that could be framed and hung on the wall....And they have the feeling of Paintings...Not easy to do!
That is an interesting meme...And you really DO learn a lot about people from Meme's, don't you?

Jealousy among the leaves. Whimsy in the wind.
Sometimes I just need: Quiet. Amen.
Sometimes I want: any old cake. but especially chocolate.
Sometimes I like to: be a fly on the side of a camera lens.
Sometimes all it takes: is thinking before you speak. Indeed.
Sometimes I picture: a Papillion dog? I picture getting everything off my to-do list ahead of time.
Sometimes I wish: I could just turn widgets on an assembly line and get paid $100,000 for it.
Sometimes I find: what I least expect.
Sometimes I take: up too much time online.
Sometimes I look: first then jump. Usually not.
Sometimes I hate: living in hearing range of fire trucks.
Sometimes it’s nice: to just enjoy your answers.
Sometimes it hurts: to not pry and it's better to be nosy. People don't mind if it comes from a good place.
Sometimes it makes me happy: to just have books and not open them.
Sometimes it’s sad: to realize I've been out of the loop of where I used to live for an entire lifetime of a dog.
Sometimes I listen: to Hubby's heart beat. best time of the day.
Sometimes I sleep: with endless dreams.
Sometimes I like to watch: Nascar, eh? I've watched the occasional game of soccer.
Sometimes I feel: like everything just possibly may be ok without a hint of self-delusion rose-coloring anything.
Sometimes I rant: and even aloud.
Sometimes I never: get around to what's important.
Sometimes I really: need to take a glass of water and exercise to make the world all right again.
