You've got to accentuate the positive
Eliminate the negative
Latch on to the affirmative
Don't mess with Mister In-Between
You've got to spread joy up to the maximum

This has been the best weekend.
It's been a while since we were home, just home to get things done. With Floydfest coming up next week I was so grateful to have yesterday to work around the yard trimming the Lamb's ear and so forth and to FINALLY get the laundry stacked in the big closet and guest room put away. It was really bringing me down. You know how certain things undone makes you feel like less of a person?
The hike with the kids Friday was awesome. Our Friday night fish fry date night was perfect. Maybe the best evening of the summer just lying on the chairs by the pond listening to music and sipping rum and cokes. Frogs adding extra bass.
And last night Toonces went out to a get together leaving me with some alone time. Time alone with my Photoshop CS4 book. I was in heaven. Glasses on, book open, new things unfolding.
Like how to do that.
Nights to work on my own stuff are becoming more and more rare.

This next set of photos is from our hike Friday in Hanging Rock Park in NC.
I think my sis may want to keep these because it isn't often you would catch these two holding hands.
And I love how when they actually go under the waterfall at Window Falls, Izzy is barely getting hit by the water. Caleb is taking a beating. But by her face and to hear her tell it, she was soaked.
We visited three waterfalls in all and after all the step climbing I was exhausted. I had to take a cat nap before T got home.
And the Thugs, Earl and Eudora, well we need to show them on their hike. After all it is always about them.

That almost made me cry seeing them getting along so good.

I love those fleeting moments when you know you are experiencing the epitome of summer. I am one that needs to be caught up first before I can feel at peace. I hope I bump into you at Floydfest. Look for me in the CU on Saturday when I might be babysitting the Gwhiz kid. I hope.

Good dogs, great kids... and waterfalls to boot. Who could ask for more. :-)
