"Be always at war with your vices, at peace with your neighbors, and let each new year find you a better man." - Benjamin Franklin
As we close out another year I have to think "wow, another great year, how did that happen?". Blessed indeed. The economy may be rough, times may be hard but Fill made it through 2009 and will see 2010 with liver cancer. My grandmother at 90 will see 2010. Though sadly we saw 2009 take Mike Hubbard at 50, my family and my friends are still here, still surrounding me and we're still having great times together. Our home still has 4 cats, 3 horses and Earl and Eudora. Chickens, yes, we've lost a few on the way. I've traveled to the Bahamas, Glacier Park, Key West...traveled with my mom and aunt, my family, my girl friends....my gardens were beautiful, pond life lush. The kids just thrive, my heart is full and life is good.
I am planning on 2010 being a much more private year for me. Facebook and blogs have us out there but I hope to lay off FB...putting time and energy into cooking, remodeling, exercising, gardening and spending quality family time together. I had a great photography run and loved the challenge but I am putting that behind me too. My portrait website will be down shortly reduced to a smaller "free" version. I decided not to teach anymore classes and asked to not be included on the schedule for 2010. Soon I plan to resign my role as treasurer of BMA and opt for a more uninvolved role. I went over the normal two year stint and would like a break. I am saying NO in 2010. My way of helping others will be through making ripples, not worrying about how to save the world.
Who knows what doors will open. Or what doors will close but as long as we have our health and each other nothing everything else can just fall into place.
Much love and peace to each of you.
