“If i'd observed all the rules, I'd never have got anywhere” - Marilyn Monroe
This past week was fair week here in our county. As always I made tons and tons of pictures. Aside from being fair week I smoked the house up not once, but TWICE with my Lucy moves. And almost a third time today. I gotta make sure I take my B6, my brain is just too spastic and forgetful!
I am reading a book for a new book club I am in with some of my best buddies. Our first book...a 672 PAGE book I might add, is 'Cutting For Stone'. A couple of us thought our friend who suggested it was maybe being a smarty pants but it actually is a really good book. Just kidding Timmesa.
Anyway this is a section I was reading last night and I thought how very, very true. Basically a dad is explaining to his sons in life we have to own up and admit to things that belong to us and our history whether we like it or not. If we can't accept who we are we cannot move on and be truly happy. We have to own who we are, own our family, own our own looks, own our talents and own what is NOT our talents. The key to happiness is to own your own or you will die searching, bitter and feeling you were promised more.
"Not only our actions, but also our omissions, become our destiny."
I really liked that. And I agree with it.
I hope things have been going well for you guys. Here are photos from my week at the Patrick County Fair.
