"Far away there in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow where they lead." -Louisa May Alcott (1832-1888)
It has been a while since my last blog post. Family vacation has passed and Halloween. And the biggest change in our family has been the passing of Dale the Cat. Senior pet at the Clark house. Dale had aged quite a bit over the summer and she woke up one day having a hard time breathing. Heart and kidney failure took Dale at 16. Close to 17. But she had a wonderful life.
She was a wonderful, loving old cat.
She died on the exact same day as her old pal Lilly. One day before Earl and Eudora turned 6. I mentioned recently that perhaps I would get a kitten so that we could stay a four cat, two dog family. It feels strange not being that. I commented that no one ever played anymore. Darius, Calista and Baby cat being 11,10 and 9. And I swear the next night those cats played their hearts out. Darius batted a toy he hadn't noticed in years chasing it all over the furniture and under things.
I think the cats have spoken. I don't think they want a kitten.
Come Spring though I think I will be ready for an addition.
Here are a few pics from the past few weeks:
Cookie Monster, Batman and bat baby!
my family photographing in Cades Cove, TN
One of my favorite vacation shots.
And one I intend to hang on the wall...my oldest babies.
So sorry to read about Dale.....She was a dear sweet cat and as you said, lived a Good long life....!
WONDERFUL Pictures, my dear Deana, as always....You have the Great Eye!!! Your "babies" are growing up before my eyes...! It's six years since I met you and your dear Toonces and all those adorable beautiful children....! I love how you have documented their growth and their very full and fun lives...

Oh, DALE! What a lucky cat she was to have your love! I bet Lilly is 'chasing' or 'cuddling' (not sure the relationship) at Rainbow Bridge! I've enjoyed your Fall photos for sure!
