Toonces and Bronx.

For Thanksgiving I wanted to do a nice fancy stuffing with Italian sausage.  When I mentioned it to Toonces he was like I am not in Italy, I don't want stuffing with sausage and apples.  I want plain ole Patrick County stuffing I can spread my gravy over.

Then in Southern Living this month they had a staircase almost identical to ours decorated with mercury acorns and candle holders.  I loved the idea but again when I mentioned it to Toonces he balked.  He wanted the same stuffed snowmen I'd brought with me when we married and done the steps with year after year.   One even has a button missing.  Toonces does not exactly go for change.  And he loves traditions.

So I knew not to even argue when he climbed up our 9 ft tree to stick his little Santa topper that is more appropriate for a 5ft tree.  It isn't the fanciest, or even my colors,  but it is his and he loves it.  So I just put a bow under it to make it not appear so tiny up there and go with it.  When we finished our tree over Thanksgiving weekend he said "It tells our story."   And that is a wonderul thing.   And far more important I guess than being the prettiest most perfect tree.   Or decorated house for that matter!

I LOVE that Toonces LOVES "Tradition"....I'm with him---I don't like changes either---And I nust say I love that he feels your tree tells YOUR story....What could be better, my dear Deana?
Oh do show us some pictures of your tree---I bet it is BEAUTIFUL! And the staircase, too!

And who is that "man" in your first picture?? I mean....Suddenly, he is a MAN!!!! Time does have a way of moving on, doesn't it....?

I like traditions but I don't mind small changes to tradition either.

Still, how could anyone disagree with a man who expresses such romantic depth? I sure couldn't.
