I'm a free-spirited photographer, soon-to-be yoga teacher, gold medal aunt, aromatherapy lover, and grand adventurer who loves nothing more than warm evenings on the porch with her husband, dogs, cats and a good bourbon.
So how many photos do you think Aunt Dee has of her babies at the recent county fair? Hundreds. Making myself delete and get to the best ones today. Hard to delete this precious little love. What a big time we had. He is waving at everyone here.
This was a photo I took of Ruby before she headed to Virginia Tech large animal hospital. I wanted one of her and her buddy Freckles. We didn't know if she would get to ever come back home. She is coming home tomorrow night. I want to celebrate but we just don't know what is ahead. The vets did not get the news they wanted from her biopsies so it is going to be a wait and see. Martin and I are still hoping and praying she makes it. I am going to video the Freck and Ruby reunion. Because those are going to be some happy horses!
The addition mentioned above is the bedroom we've planned on adding for years to make sure we have one on the ground floor. And Naomi, Maggie our Calico kitten is here yes, but Baby Cat or old Manx was eaten by coyotes who keep moving in closer and closer to us. My pets can only be out now in the day when I am here and must sleep in at night. I collect them all at dusk and bring them inside to safety.
Someone is going to be disappointed when they pour the footings and she can't dash in and out of the ditches. Miss Maggie is the only one young enough to be interested in the dirt. Years ago Earl and Eudora would've been in heaven. Now they just lie on the edge of it watching. We are back up to Virginia Tech today. Our horse Ruby has been there for several weeks in the large animal hospital. Originally she was going to be put down but she is a tough girl and has a great spirit and is rallying. We aren't supposed to get our hopes up until her muscle biopsies come back. But she is gaining weight and her pain is under control. So we'll see. And we'll keep praying for her.
