“Yours is the light by which my spirit's born: you are my sun, my moon, and all my stars.”

Summer afternoons with Bronx.

Darius taking a cat nap. He loves the back patio.

Tonight I headed back to the barn to make sure I hadn't left my glasses in with the hen and new chicks.  When I opened a door there was a snake.  Of course I panicked and ran for Martin screaming.  The snake would eat the newly hatched babies.  After he killed the snake we had to check the room for more.  There was a big eyed field mouse on the top shelf of the tack room.  Darius was up with us so I picked him up and we put him up there to take care of the rodent.  The blasted thing jumped right off the shelf onto my chest.  Geez I screamed.  It was chaos.  Poor mama hen not getting up off those babies but just a ruffled mess.  I know we drive her crazy.  She just wants peace.

They are so adorable.  I hope they all hatch.  It will be nice to start the summer with little ones.
