The Book Meme….
Hardcover or paperback- Hardback. 2 things I am a snob over…books and seats (for concerts, etc.) I have very few paperbacks and when possible I like my edition signed by the author. I’ll pay for the difference which is why I am having a hard time with the Hannah Montana concert. I want great seats but I don’t want to bankrupt my private account doing it. I am probably a shoe and purse brand name snob too.
If I were to own a book shop, I would call it? ...Oh gosh. This is more Martin’s speed. Maybe “Do you WANNA be smarter than a 5th grader?” . How about “Rollie’s
Reads” and I can have storytime with the children?
My favorite quote(s) from a book (mention title) are:
"If you just learn a single trick, Scout, you'll get along a lot better with all kinds of folks. You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view... Until you climb inside of his skin and walk around in it".- Atticus Finch - To Kill A Mockingbird
Daisy, on her newborn girl: "All right...I'm glad it's a girl. And I
hope she'll be a fool -- that's the best thing a girl can be in this world, a beautiful little fool"
“Whenever you feel like criticizing any one just remember that all the people in this world haven’t had the advantages that you’ve had.” His father.
“The Great Gatsby”
Feminists have a problem with Daisy’s quote. I read that book the first time at 17 and I already understood what she meant.
The author (alive or deceased) I would love to have lunch with would be... without a doubt Hemingway. I’d love for the Fitzgerald’s to come along. Anne Rice would be my next choice.
If I was going to a deserted island & could bring one book it would be....
The Bible so I wouldn’t feel alone and I could die with peace since I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t make it long on a deserted island.
I would love someone to invent a bookish gadget that...let me lie on my belly and read more comfortably.
Smell of old books reminds me.....of why I take allergy medications.
If I could be a lead character in a book (mention title) it would be….Daisy in the Great Gatsby or Lady Brett Ashley. I know they are self absorbed. I am probably more like Ramona in the "Ribsy" series but it is my post.
The most overestimated book of all times is.... Hmmm…can I say pretty much anything by Jonathan Sparks?
I hate it when a book.... starts out so great, leads me on and then has a very disappointing ending.
I am not going to tag anyone but I know I have a lot of reading friends that I hope will try this one.....
I'd love to hear some of your answers in the comments.
