"What you thought before has led to every choice you have made, and this adds up to you at this moment. If you want to change who you are physically, mentally, and spiritually, you will have to change what you think."
Dr. Patrick Gentempo
Remember how I used to love to post my new shoes and purchases?
I haven't done that in a while. Probably because I shop more now for the kids than myself. I pick up bits and pieces out and about. I have more earthy and Bohemian clothes now than I probably do dressy things. Office attire...gone. I have a few suits around for emergencies.
Shoes, shoes I still love too much to not have something for every kind of occasion and then some. Today when I found these to go with my outfit for my 25th year reunionthis weekend, (How the crap did that NUMBER get here when I am so young?) the sales clerk who reminded me right much of True Blood's Lafayette, told me..."I love a woman that likes bad ass shoes."
I probably grinned like a little monkey. I was delighted that someone would say that. I guess you'd have to be a shopper to appreciate it, I don't know. But I came home with some great stuff. Toonces didn't even blink, which is WONDERFUL. And I am still in a good mood from shopper's high.
They are Michael Kors, love him, love his clothes and shoes...they are pretty high but wrap around your ankle so maybe I won't break my neck.
My bff will be going too. We used to say "Oh we've been friends for over twenty years until my brother pointed out that number had grown, now it is like...ummmm...28. Holy crap. Tate you've been my best friend for almost 30 years!
AND, and while shopping I realized that seasons had changed and it was time to add a new bag to my collection. I decided to give Coach another try as I'd had problems with them in the past...Toonces thinks it is super ugly as he has my purses for the last several years. He likes very classic bags like LV...and if he would like to buy me one that he does like well I am a girl that loves gifts.
I bought the plum, not green.
The Coach lady didn't say anything about being a BA purse but just looked me in the eye when I asked to see it and said "Honey, do you wanna make a statement?" I thought hard and said "Yes, I think I do." Now that statement could be I should feel the brick hitting me in the head for blowing money on things like that OR from my fellow fashionistas and accessories lovers it is more like "you go girl".
I have changed on so very many levels, honestly. I have become so much more down to earth. Peaceful. Giving. Patient.
LET me keep my shoe and purse obsession!
Seth wanted me to make his picture instead of his brother's the other day. The first was his exercises. "Make a picture of me exercising...make a picture of my tongue...:" I put Seth on here because he has started pre-school and I get to pick him up tomorrow. So I can have kids in the house again YEAH, the past few weeks without them has made me sad. Since Seth likes the Wii as much as I like shoes I see some competition brewing.
