My first visit to the Front Porch Festival here in Stuart.
So our Labor day was filled with music, kids, laughter, friends, and shopping.
With all the rain blowing in and the temps suddenly dropping from the nineties to upper sixties it feels like fall just pushed summer out of the way and made itself at home. We've had so much rain the past couple of days that the pond, that was low, is suddenly back up to normal.
Yesterday I went shopping with Caleb and Jackson in Winston-Salem, NC and we were at Hanes Mall, a large mall, and suddenly the alarms went off. Sirens blaring, white lights blinking, and someone on the loud speaker that was not even English. It scared the boys. Then it kind of shook me up when people started fleeing. Some said it was tornado warnings but I could never find where one got even close to that area. Others said something hit the power surge there. Whatever it was, it was not fun.
Not fun to be in a crowded mall with sirens going off and kids. When they first went off everyone assumed there was a fire which is never good. Caleb and Jackson were ready to be home. They didn't even want to stop and eat out, they wanted their own houses. Caleb had started worrying it was an alien attack which did not sit well with Jackson. A day we will not forget anytime soon!
The boys were bummed that they missed their chance to go into Victoria's Secret and ask the girls if they needed any help. That was their plan anyway. Not sure if they would've actually gone through with it. Instead they flew out to an exit out into the pouring rain. We did, however, get to play in the Halloween store prior to the commotion. And that was a riot with a teen and a preteen. I went home with a kid ina blond mullet and Napoleon Dynamite!
