Well its official. Tate and I will embark on an adventure driving 7 1/2 hours up to Atlantic City in hopes of spinning the wheel with Bob Barker. I can look him in the eyes and tell him honestly that I spay and neuter all my pets! Please pray for us when we leave Thurs. Jan 19th. Seriously.
Last Movie of 2005- For Caleb's sake I went to sit through King Kong. Oh my, now that WAS a movie! Time flew by. Loved it! **** (that's 4 stars). I've never seen anything quite like it. I had bugs crawling on me all day. This series of photos are Caleb with Princess Leah, sister to Earl and Eudora and a bit smaller. Her best bud is Izzy's Corgi, Lucky.
Last good music discovery of 2005- Richard Elliot, his CD Metroblue. Lots of sax. very nice. We are trying to broaden our music selections to include more jazz, zydeco, blues, etc. Thanks Billy and Wendy for the CD.
Closing 2005- If you're just visiting you're welcome to skim photos or skip. Its not rude, this is a longer post.
Had it not been for the huge loss in Jackson and Ben-Ben's life (and Amy and Delane) I would say that 2005 could not have been better. For me I am sure that no year will ever be like 2005. While Bush has tried his best to destroy America and make us look like fools, while politicians have reached an all time low, even for them...while I have been disgusted every time I turn on the news, for Rollie personally this was the year.
2005 = Fairytales for me....I was married in April to the love of my life in Freeport, Bahamas with my immediate family and best buds there. It was surreal. If you didn't know it before, Toonces and I were together many years ago. In fact, 16 years ago we would have been in Los Vegas for the first time.
People can say love conquers all and maybe it does bang your heads together enough to get your attention but you have to yield to love and be mature enough to handle love for it to work. Ours was never a question of love but more the restlessness of a 29 year old successful lawyer and a 22 year old girl with alot to prove to herself and the world. I've always known Martin was crazy in love with me. A little over 4 years ago when we met up again all the chemistry was still there and just "POW" but we had outgrown all the immaturities that separated us. I know in my heart of hearts God wants me to be with Toonces. If you knew me and knew how good he'd been for me you'd agree. Toonces is a wonderful man and when I walked out on the balcony in the Bahamas and saw him I couldn't believe it was really going to happen. After all these years we were getting married.
Rollie always, always has wanted a Mercedes. Just like Janis says, "Lord want you buy me a Mercedes Benz", though I know she was actually against the import I still like the line. Toonces said no Mercedes, no. Absolutely not. Well Rollie has a new 2006 Mercedes. Go 2005!
Also in fairytale land I was able to retire from my full time job to take care of the house. Actually it may have been more a fairy tale with my job, new clothes, being somebody....not traipsing around in horse shit to feed the horses or mopping the floor for the fifth time because kitties and puppies with mud ran in...but still time off to do what I want or need anytime. That is something. Its actually made me more grounded and less superficial if that makes any sense.
So yes I am a bitch! 2005 rocked for me. 2006 means turning 40 and a whole new inning starting in the ballgame. But I am ready. Come what may I have been blessed and pray I shape up and take some time to return the favor. And aside from being thankful for Toonces and our home and pets I am thankful that my mom is feeling and looking so much better, that the kids actually like doing things with me and now even Ben has warmed to me, (they end up adoring me), and I am thankful that my brother and sister married such great, entertaining people. Oh, and very thankful that as old as Toonces is he still looks so good!
2006 shorter posts I swear!
