Take a walk with me, Earl and Eudora to capture the colors of the season.
My morning started with Baby Seth...we only had one setback. What I thought was rain water in a bucket he was stirring turned out to be some of papa's motor oil....we both smelled like pole cats.
I ruined his shirt and when Melanie picked him up he was in Izzy's little sweatshirt that read "Cheerleader" across the front...or "Cheer"...It was all I could find. Poor Seth. But I think he had a good time. He is a funny, happy baby. Though he didn't trust me enough to nap with me.
And if mom and dad have to drain the septic system it might be because of the crayons I flushed....he was too quick.
My house still smells like oil from my sweatshirt that is also ruined.
Back to the tour please...
I literally crawled through the grapevines by the creek to get a shot of my neighbor's cows. Earl all in my feet. I missed Eudora after the shots and turned to see her a good 30 yards back. I don't think she likes cows.
I have to hurry. I am making, yes MAKING, Toonces watch The Lake House. No we did not get to the parkway, the winery or anywhere else. We are plagued with cootie bugs. Well tomorrow is a new day.
I was thinking....maybe I should let the T-man do a guest post one day.
I gotta go...I'd hate to miss one of Keanu's many ranges of emotion.....
Lilly is safe and resting today. We have discovered she is entirely blind now. But she has a good appetite and enjoyed the afternoon hanging close to us.
Toonces finally made it to a spin class with me. Sadly my spin time is being canceled unless something changes so Rollie will have to restructure her weekly schedule. He hung right with us other than hovering. I'm waiting to see if he is sore in the morning!
Toonces and I are watching Syriana. Greed...power....mind control...religious manipulation......hatred. The world is a scary place. The good guys are as out for power as the bad guys. It blurs so that who knows who really is good anymore. I'd recommend this movie.
If we can do nothing else in this country could we not join together and demand fossil fuels be replaced?....Wouldn't that be the best gift we could give the children?
I haven't done an around here in a while....backyard finds.
found on my sunflower.
Nasty things eating my moon flowers. (wedding bells)
moon flower seed pods...need any?
my newest acquisition...and protection from cats.
My mom and her sister are enjoying Charleston and Savannah the rest of the week.
I have a date with little bear (Seth) tomorrow morning.
The great thing about democracy is that it gives every voter a chance to do something stupid. Art Spander
Coincidence? Gas prices dropping before the election? I think not.
Things happen for a reason. If we had been in Vegas this week as planned, Lilly would have died stuck in a mud hole in a tiny branch below the house in the woods. A very unfitting end for such a good dog. She must have gotten disoriented in the night. We woke to find her gone. The Thugs woke me up jumping on the front door around 4am barking and shaking..I made them settle down.....I guess they knew. We took turns searching all through the day and I found her about 3:00 this afternoon. She couldn't even lay her head down to rest long or she would've drown. Poor Lilly, I just don't know what we are going to do. Life is full of tough decisions.
Operation Rescue Lilly.
This has not been like a vacation week.
T is sick and my sinuses are crazy. It has been all work and no play. And not the work I planned on.
Disqualified: Let me take back the credit Toonces got for laundry. I found his "laundry" in an overstuffed dryer ball of wrinkles....still in the dryer Sunday night. To me that does NOT count as "doing his own laundry." At least he knows better than touch my clothes.
ATTITUDE: Check out B-Belle showing her stuff in her soccer video on the side....I like the way I can trick up the videos now. She made 2 goals in this tiny clip alone....Go Girl!
Let's just make today's post Lilly, Isabelle and Sideline Seth day!
PS- Weren't they a bit too harsh on Mario? That couple is 10s all the way...sorry.
My fair ribbons and my tiny check. (I'm saving that for my scrapbook)......next year I go for a blue! and more categories.
The Mount Airy, Surry County Fair.
The first time I have gotten to be with all the kids together at the fair.
I added a photo gallery to the side so I wouldn't have so many pics in the post. I like this one not only because of Ben's sweet little smile but if you look across you see Toonces, Eric, Melanie, Delane and Papa. Izzy (not pictured) is driving the locomotive.
Caleb and Seth stayed with me Friday while Melanie had her hair done. (Check out her new do in the fair gallery.) Seth can wiggle and even with Caleb's help I did awful on his diaper change so I had to give him a bath to clean him up. It took Caleb and I both in the big bathtub with him because he went wild....jumping and splashing around. I accidentally dropped his clothes in the bath so he had to wear my tee. He is so sweet but he is fast....I lost my Mrs. Dash and some garlic powder to the toilet before I could catch him.
The Thugs got a treat yesterday after my class...I learned a lot btw. Mainly that I don't miss being gone from home all day. Toonces had done laundry and the grocery shopping...it was freaky. Earl and Eudora swam and swam.
NO VEGAS! Last week we canceled our plans for Vegas this week. Otherwise I would be flying out in the morning. I'm kinda glad to be staying home. We're still on vacation but now Toonces will be helping me get my tree gardens lined with rock and monkey grass. I can get started planting my 200 misc. bulbs. And he is going to spin with me! T-man is in for quite a vacation!
