Of all the things you wear, your expression is the most important. ~Janet Lane
Saturday I had the boys and we visited Art in The Park at DeHart park here in Stuart. Seth enjoyed making giant bubbles, a bracelet for his mom...milking the cow full of paints and doing some sidewalk art.
The guy who was over the sidewalk "art" is a friend of mine. I've worked with him several times and he is an amazing artist. - Basically artists and others had volunteered their time to make money for students and community arts.
I had told Seth when we gave our tickets to get the chalk to draw with that he was meeting a great artist and that we had several of his paintings in our home.
When we got in the car to go home Seth goes "That guy wasn't so great, he didn't help me at all with my drawing." Apparently Seth had misunderstood that the guy was just working the sidewalk and taking tickets. Not helping the kids draw. And when I reminded Seth how the guy had pointed out that most children put their sun in the corners and Seth's was big and bright and whole almost in the middle so he must be very artistic, Seth said "Oh yeah. He must be a great artist to know that I am a great artist too."
I woke up with a bad sore throat Friday morning. The beginning of a virus. By the time we got home from Fredricksburg I was sick. Saturday I didn't feel as bad but by yesterday I was down. Like a flu bug had hit me. I knew that was the worst of it but I hate that I wasn't a better visit for the boys. I got breakfast made but then I basically laid on the sofa and let Seth roll all over me as they played video games.
I bought the game Wii Disney's Guilty Party for us while in Fredricksburg. That is actually kind of fun. Like a video Clue. Saturday evening while I took a break from the kids to check my Facebook they were doing play wrestling. Not hurting each other but every move Seth made, Caleb could block it. Finally I heard Seth's feet headed my way mumbling that Caleb sucked basically. He came in and reached for my golden desk turtle. I asked him what he was doing and he said he needed to see the secret hiding hole in the turtle. I, now being a veteran of children, knew exactly what was up. Seth had taken out the letter opener... a tiny sword hidden in the turtle's belly. I told him to stop- turn...what was he planning on doing with that sword?
"I am going to stab Caleb with it." he said.
At least he is an honest child. And he handed it over easily.
Kids are so funny.
I ended the wrestling and made sure I was with him at all times from there on out.
And no more wrestling!
The saddest note...True Blood's season is over. Not fair, not fair. Why do they do so few epidsodes? I will miss it so much. I love it so much. I get so excited on Sunday nights. I make Toonces sit with me. Now there is nothing, no date night TV. Boo hoo.
